Azure Dev Tools for Teaching
(formerly MSDN AA and Microsoft Imagine)
This program enables students from TUKE faculties to utilize Microsoft software for educational and non-commercial research purposes.
Use of the software provided under this program is strictly limited to teaching or non-commercial research purposes.
Teaching is defined as conducting academic courses, labs, or related educational programs (e.g., software development classes, introduction to programming languages, systems design and analysis, relevant math, science, or technical courses, computer engineering, computer science, information systems, and similar subjects).
Research purposes are defined as activities related to non-profit research projects.
This software must not be used for any purposes involving university, faculty, or departmental infrastructure — such as administrative operations. It also must not be sold, leased, or used by third parties, and must not be used to develop commercial applications.
The acquired software may be used in the following ways (but is not limited to these):
- The Windows operating system may be used as a teaching tool for concepts or theory related to operating systems.
- Windows Server, SQL Server, Visual Studio, and Exchange Server may be used for teaching concepts, theory, database management, information systems, or similar courses.
- Both teachers and students may use the licenses on their personal computers, provided they comply with the licensing terms.
The acquired software must not be used in the following ways (among others):
- University IT staff must not use these products to develop applications for the institution's infrastructure.
- Windows OS may not be used as the operating system in laboratories not dedicated to teaching software development concepts, theory, or procedures.
- None of the products may be installed on computers in departments supporting faculty operations, such as accounting, admissions, facility management, or IT administration.
