Cloud Solutions

The Centre for Information Technology actively operates both third-party and in-house cloud solutions, offering anbsp;wide range of services to staff and students.

Microsoft 365 Cloud Platform

Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 is a cloud service by Microsoft that delivers a suite of productivity, collaboration, and workflow management tools. It includes well-known applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and many more, available both as desktop and cloud-based apps:

  • Office suite – Includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools.
  • Exchange mail server – Email service available to TUKE students.
  • Microsoft Teams – A platform for chat, video conferencing, and team collaboration. Integrates with SharePoint, OneNote, Planner, and more.
  • OneDrive – Secure personal cloud storage.
  • SharePoint – Internal website creation, document sharing, and collaboration.
  • OneNote – A digital notebook for notes and research.
  • Over 40 additional tools for various productivity and educational needs.

The service also includes Azure Cloud, which supports research and teaching through scalable computing resources. Free academic licences for Microsoft software are available — see the Software / Microsoft section for details.

TUKE Cloud Platform

The TUKE cloud infrastructure covers several IT areas at the university, including computing power, data storage, and web hosting.

VRA Platform

VMware vRealize Automation

VMware vRealize Automation (VRA) is a tool that automates IT infrastructure and application management in data centres.

Cloud Disk

Nextcloud

Nextcloud is an open-source platform for cloud storage and file sharing, similar to Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.

Main features include:

  • Up to 15 GB of storage
  • End-to-end encryption
  • Customisable user rights and settings for each individual user
  • File sharing and collaboration
  • Cross-device synchronisation (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS)
