Department of Technical Equipment, Multimedia, Operations, and Dispatching

This department handles activities in the following areas:

Communication Infrastructure – Passive Layer

  • Design, implementation, and operation of the optical and metallic infrastructure of the TUNET network in the main TUKE campus.
  • Design, implementation, and operation of the CANET optical infrastructure (Cassoviensis Academic Network – the Košice academic computer network), which ensures network integration of TUKE sites located outside the main campus on Letná 9 (such as Grešákova, Mäsiarska, the Faculty of Aeronautics campus, and student dormitories on Jedlíkova).

Operation of Data Centers and Network Distribution Centers (TUNET)

  • Technical support for operational conditions in data centers and network distribution centers within TU buildings — including:
    Power backup systems, Air conditioning, CCTV surveillance, Processing outputs from infrastructure monitoring systems

Client Software at the Rectorate, University Departments, and at Faculty Departments - on request

Services include:

  • Installation of client software
  • Removal of malware from client workstations
  • Handling non-standard requests and providing consulting services 

Computer Hardware Service

  • Maintenance, repairs, and consulting services for PC equipment at the ICT, Rectorate, University Departments, and also for faculty workplaces – on request.

Identification Cards for Students and Employees

  • Issuance, replacement, and validity extension of identification cards for TUKE employees and students.

Other Activities

  • Receiving user requests, directly resolving them or assigning them to other organizational units of ICT for processing
  • Generating access passwords for the Central Authentication System (CAS) for TU students and employees
