MATLAB

MATLAB is a programming environment for developing algorithms, analyzing data, visualizing results, and performing numerical computations. Simulink is a graphical environment for modeling, simulating, and designing multidomain dynamic and embedded systems. MathWorks also offers nearly 100 additional products for specialized tasks such as data analytics and image processing.

Licensing

The Technical University of Košice holds a Total Academic Headcount (TAH) license for MATLAB, Simulink and associated toolboxes. This license permits all university employees, researchers, and students to utilize the software for teaching, research, and academic purposes. The license covers installations on both university-owned and personal devices.

Under the MATLAB TAH license, users have access to:

The license is valid each academic year until August 30. After this date, reactivation is required. Instructions on how to renew the license are provided below. If you do not yet have a license, create an account on the MathWorks website using your TUKE email address and follow the steps provided there.

Licensing is also available via the TUKE license server. These are network licenses, which require the client computer to be connected to the university's TUNET network or to connect via the TUKE VPN service. The license server validates the license each time the program is launched.

To request the MATLAB installation and license, please complete the following form:

https://formulare.usaps.uvt.tuke.sk/form/22

Once submitted, your request will be forwarded to the Helpdesk.

The administrator will then send an email with a download link for the installation DVD image (.iso) and the necessary licensing information for installation.

Courses and Learning Resources

In addition to the services above, you can access online training through the MATLAB Online Training Suite. A certificate is issued upon completion.

  • MATLAB Academy – learn MATLAB in just 2 hours
  • Videos and Webinars – explore topics by application or product to discover MATLAB and Simulink capabilities
  • MATLAB Examples – a collection of reusable code and practical examples using MATLAB and Simulink
