Multi-Factor Authentication Setup

Microsoft 365 – Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Before changing your mobile Phone or reinstalling the Microsoft Authenticator app, it is essential to add a new device via the authentication method selection.
Without this step, you will not be able to access your account.
If your device is lost or damaged, you must reset your MFA settings.

MFA reset is only possible in person, after verifying your identity at the ICT Dispatching.

Microsoft Authenticator

After signing in to Microsoft 365, you may be prompted to enable multi-factor authentication. Click Next.

On your mobile device, download the Microsoft Authenticator app (available on all major mobile platforms). After installing it, click Next.

To secure your account, enable notifications on your mobile device and select Work or school account. Then click Next.

In the app, tap the button in the bottom right corner to activate QR code scanning.

Scan the QR code (1.), then click Next.

Enter the numeric code generated in the app, then click Yes.

After receiving the approval notification, click Next.

Your multi-factor authentication setup is now complete. Confirm by clicking Done.

After logging in, you may use Microsoft 365 applications.
Be careful: After MFA is configured, you may be signed out of all devices, and reauthentication will be required based on your new settings.

Authentication via SMS

If, for technical reasons, you are unable to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app, or if your device does not support it, you can opt to authenticate via SMS.
When Microsoft prompts you to secure your account, select “I want to set up a different method.”

Choose Phone as the verification method.

Select Slovakia (+421) and enter your phone number (1.).
Then click Receive code (2.) and Next (3.).

Enter the code sent to you via SMS into field (1.).

After receiving confirmation that the verification is complete, click Next.

Confirm your SMS authentication setup by clicking Done.

Selecting Your Authentication Method

If you need to change, edit, or add an authentication method go to https://office.com and log in using your TUKE login and password.
In the bottom-left corner, click on your profile photo (1.), then select View account (2.).

On the My Account screen, select Security info.

To manage your authentication methods:

  • Click Add sign-in method (1.) to add a new method
  • Click Change (2.) to modify an existing method
  • Click Delete (3.) to remove an existing method

If you select 'Add', choose your preferred authentication method, such as Microsoft Authenticator.

Follow the Microsoft Authenticator setup instructions.
