E-Learning Portal – Moodle LMS

University-wide Moodle

Moodle LMS is an open-source web application designed to support distance learning. The ICT manages the Moodle installation designated for teaching, which is accessible to all students and staff of TUKE. Access is authenticated through the Central Authentication System (CAS).

Moodle LMS is a PHP application that uses its own MariaDB database installation (LAMP stack). The TUKE Moodle installation is regularly updated and runs on long-term supported versions of Moodle.

For more information about Moodle LMS, visit the official Moodle project website:

TUKE Moodle LMS – Supporting Distance Education

Access to the university-wide Moodle:

  • Or via Portal → Studies → E-Learning Portal Moodle

Some departments operate their own Moodle installations. Links to these can be found at:
https://moodle.tuke.sk/

Moodle is used to support teaching and enables the creation of course environments for subjects. It manages access for students and teachers to learning materials, tracks student performance (including activities, assignments, and tests), and enforces deadlines through notifications.

Note: Course structure in Moodle is not automatically linked to subjects recorded in MAIS, and study results are not transferred from Moodle to MAIS.

Every active student and staff member has access to Moodle using their assigned unique login.

  • Each course guarantor can request the creation of a course with selected teachers. The teacher configures student access to the course.
  • Moodle does not contain relevant content for non-teaching staff.
  • Students should use Moodle according to the instructions provided by their teachers.

Creating a Course in TUKE Moodle LMS

Teachers can request course creation by emailing: moodle@helpdesk.tuke.sk
Requests must follow the Moodle usage policy (login required).

Some basic guides for teachers on how to manage access and work with Moodle courses can be found directly at:
https://moodle.tuke.sk/moodle
Comprehensive documentation is available at:
